Railroad Work to Close Us-36 Highway Near Home City Feb. 11-12

EXPECT DELAYS! Eastbound and westbound U.S. 36 lanes just east of Home City in Marshall County will be CLOSED for a Union Pacific railroad crossing replacement project beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, February 11 and reopening to all traffic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12, weather permitting.

A marked detour will be provided (**see map below for marked detour route map). Traffic will detour via U.S. 36 to K-99 to K-9 to U.S. 77 to U.S. 36. Drivers should expect some delays and must use alternate routes during the roadway closure.

The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
