EXPECT DELAYS! Northbound and southbound K-99 lanes from north and east of the City of Beattie in Marshall County will be CLOSED for a Union Pacific railroad crossing replacement project beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9 and reopening to all traffic at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, weather permitting.
A marked detour will be provided (**see map below for marked detour route). Traffic will detour via U.S. 36 to U.S. 77 to Route 8 in Nebraska back to K-99. Drivers should expect some delays and must use alternate routes during the roadway closure.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
