The USD 364 Board of Education is pondering two proposed calendars for next school year, one of them includes plans for early dismissal every Wednesday for all students. This would allow teachers to work together on curriculum and any other matters that may pop up. This year, the junior and senior high students are being dismissed on the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 pm. Board members had concerns of would this be an issue for parents who don’t live in Marysville. It was brought up that some churches have activities for students on early dismissal days. It was also brought to the boards attention that the early dismissal would create less in service days and perhaps the calendar could be restructured to where school could start later in the fall. Right now, both calendars have school starting on August 15 and ending May 22. The board will consider the calendars at their next board meeting on February 13.
