The Vice-President of the Washington County School District, Rod Stewart, was elected President-elect designee by the Kansas Association of School Boards delegate assembly on December 2nd in Topeka. Stewart will serve as President-elect starting July 1 and take the office of President of the Association on July 1, 2014. He has served on many committees for the association, including the convention credentials committee and the executive director interview committee, as he is in his second term on the board of directors. Stewart is in his sixth year of being on the USD 108 board of education, prior to that he had served seven years on the USD 222 board and one year on the consolidation transition board, serving as president.

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY. You can hear Kevin on daily news reports, as well as calling area high school football and basketball. Kevin lives in Marysville with his wife Melissa, and 4 children Brennen, Jacob, Bailee, and Joshua.
