Kansas Farmers Union will be hosting a Beginning Farming Workshop this Saturday, January 26 from 9-5 at Nelson’s Landing Restaurant in Leonardville. There will be several different speakers talking about the financial aspect of farm transitioning, sustainable agriculture, farm to school program, and an attorney specializing in real estate and contract matters will be there as part of the class. A large group of panelist will also share their stories of organic farming and grazing, growing and marketing wholesale and retail produce, produce growing, grazing, and high tunnel produce, among others. Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY.
