Frankfort student selected as Senate Page

Trent Kennedy, a junior at Frankfort High School has been selected to be a U.S. Senate Page in Washington D.C. He’ll leave for Washington on January 27 to begin his work on the senate floor and to start school on January 28 and running thru June 7th. Some of his duties as a page will include delivery of correspondence and legislative material within the Capitol, prepare the Senate Chamber for sessions, taking messages for senators, and carrying bills and amendments from the presiding officers desk.

After graduation in May 2014, Kennedy plans to attend the University of Kansas to major in pre-medicine and political science and then go to medical school. Trent is the son of Mike and Melissa Kennedy of Frankfort. He is one of only 30 students from across the nation selected to participate in the program.

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY. Kevin lives in Marysville with his wife Melissa, and 4 children Brennen, Jacob, Bailee, and Joshua.
