Axtell to build a track for practice for AHS athletes

The Axtell Track Committee is planning to start construction of a practice track near the Axtell School.  The track is being made possible by the support of local farmers donating their time and resources for the work, plus other volunteers and monetary gifts.  Rocky Rothfelder of Fort Worth, TX,  is a 1939 graduate of Axtell High School and had read about the success of the track team over the last couple of years and when he found out Axtell didn’t have a track to even practice on, he decided to donate $25,000 towards the development of the track.  The track athletes have been running on the streets of Axtell, and having a practice facility will not only be safer for them, but it will also be a better surface for them to practice on.
