EXPECT DELAYS! All lanes of K-99 in Wamego in Pottawatomie County will be CLOSED for a Union Pacific railroad crossing replacement project beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9 and reopening to all traffic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, weather permitting. (This was originally scheduled for December 20-21, 2012 but was canceled due to winter weather.)
A marked detour will be provided (see detour map below). Traffic will detour via US-24 to K-177 to I-70 to K-99. NOTE: K-18 will still be closed south of Wamego, so K-18 will not be a detour option. Drivers should expect some delays and must use alternate routes during the roadway closure.
