A grant through the Kansas Department of Transportation will be submitted by the City of Seneca to help fund the rebuilding of the remaining four block original brick surface of Main Street from 7th to 10th Street. This will be Phase 2 of the project and it’s projected to cost $1.5 million. A 20% minimum local match would be required for the grant. The City of Seneca will not know until late summer whether they have been approved for the grant or not. If approved, the project would likely begin in the spring of 2014.
