The recent school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut have called for a plan of action locally.
Now, along with tornado and fire drills, the Marshall County schools have called for set intruder drills. Plans have already been set in the Marysville Public Schools and practice runs have been placed in their schedules. Police Chief Todd Ackerman said that he would be glad to provide security officers at local schools if the funding were made available.
Since the recent shootings, Sheriff Dan Hargrave has been in contact with other school officials across the county asking them for more practice. With some extensive planning and others not so much, Hargrave has decided to become familiar with the layouts of each of the county schools.
