Gage County Supervisors were hoping to install fire hydrants and fire truck fill up points along the rural water project near Wymore, however that will not be possible. According to Ted McIntyre, the project engineer, fire hydrants being added to the line will not be possible because the system was designed for drinking water. The line will run from just north of Highway 136, just south of Beatrice, to the southeast corner of Odell. The pressure in the line may not meet requirements for fire trucks, as they may suck the line dry before it’s even known. Fireman should be able to get water from the tank, which is locate east of Wymore, if the need were to arise, and would not deplete the water supply to where it would not impact the rural water customers.
