SKF USA in Seneca announced plans earlier this week to transfer the manufacture of industrial seal products from Franklin, North Carolina to it’s production facility in Seneca. $2.4 million will be invested to upgrade the Seneca facility and the consolidation will take about 18 months. 28 employees will lose their job in North Carolina. The Seneca plant currently employs 150 people and that number could go slightly up with the consolidation, depending on demand. Facility use and customer service will be improved with the consolidation.
