There are three options the USD 115 Board of Education is considering concerning Baileyville High School. The first option is to have all 6th-8th graders at Baileyville, 9th-12th and pre-Kindergarten thru 5th grade at Seneca. The second option is to close the Baileyville facility and have all students attend the Seneca facility and the third option is to transition the closing of the Baileyville facility over a period of time, beginning with the junior high and then the senior high. Cheryl Deters, a school patron, asked that the board consider having the junior high the Baileyville facility on a permanent basis. She also thought the students should be involved in the decision, along with choosing school colors and a mascot. Deters asked the school board to give all the schools one more year to allow the kids to embrace the end and she thought it would give the students time to blend.
