Leadership Trailblazers Look for Service Project

The 2013 Leadership Marshall County Trailblazer class members are looking for a way to give back to their communities through a service project to be completed in early spring 2013.

The group hopes to assist with one or several projects within Marshall County that would sustain, enhance or improve the quality of life, the safety of local residents or the growth and sustainability of the county.

The Trailblazers will donate the labor for the project if materials necessary for completion are provided by the group or individual applying. Some possible project ideas include improvements made by painting, light construction, landscaping or organization.

Applications will be accepted from a person, group of people, church or community service organization until Jan. 15.

Applications will be made available at each town’s city office and the Marysville Chamber of Commerce within the next week, as well as on the group’s Facebook page, Facebook.com/Leadership-Marshall-County. For towns whose city office is not open regularly, applications can also be found at the local bank.

After receiving feedback from the first Leadership Marshall County class last spring, the board of directors decided to add a community service project of the group’s choice to the class agenda.

This year’s group selected the service project as a way to discover what was needed most in the community. Members hope to complete at least one project before the end of the year and continue their service to Marshall County long after graduation through being involved in numerous community groups and events.
