COMMISSION MINUTES, November 12, 2012
The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman; Roger Otott, Vice Chairman, 2nd District Commissioner; Elizabeth Hiltgen, County Attorney, and Lou Kern, County Clerk. Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner, was attending the Kansas Association of Counties meeting in Topeka.
Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order.
Next regular meeting will be Monday, November 19, 2012 at 8:30 A.M.
The board will serve as the Board of County Canvassers on Thursday, November 15 to canvass the November 6 election results.
The board approved and signed official minutes from August 27 through November 5, 2012.
The board approved and signed change order nos. 2012-1 through 2012-3.
Justin Cordry, Sheriff Elect, spoke with the board about the training that he will be attending in December. The board authorized that Justin be paid out all of his accrued earn time at the next pay period.
The board performed an evaluation of Janice Kearn, R.N., County Health Director.
Roger Otott moved and Alison Mueller seconded to adopt Resolution 14-12 causing the financial statements for 2012 to be prepared on the cash basis and budget laws of the State of Kansas. Motion carried.
Sonya Hiltgen, Register of Deeds Elect, spoke with the commission regarding a new hire.
The board approved and Chairman Mueller signed payroll change notice for Joni Wiese Ohlde from ¾ time an as needed position effective November 18, 2012.
David Willbrant, Public Works Director, gave weekly work report. David will attend Kansas Association of Counties meeting on Wednesday, November 14 and look at a boom mower at Federal Surplus as well.
