Odell Man arrested for stealing pickup

An Odell Man stole a pickup in Beatrice Monday morning, but didn’t get very far before he was arrested.  Patrick Adkins, 19 of Odell, was arrested after a brief police chase in which he drove the pickup into Indian Creek.  Cole Ripprecht, owner of the Dodge pickup, heard it start up in his driveway on South 8th St. shortly after 6 a.m.  Ripprecht then pursued the vehicle until police arrived.  Adkins drove the truck west on Ella Street and finally into Indian Creek.  The vehicle sustained severe damage.  Adkins did flee the scene, but was arrested a short time later near Seventh and Beaver Street after a concerned citizen called authorities to report a man with wet pants running in the neighborhood.
