Long Time Valley Heights Teacher Passes Away

Long time Valley Heights VO-AG instructor and well respected FFA advisor Dan Palmateer passed away Sunday morning.

He taught at Valley Heights High School for 37 years, from 1974-2011, and was also the girls basketball and track coach at various times throughout his career there.

He was inducted into the Valley Heights Hall of Fame in 2011.

His funeral service will be in the Valley Heights High School Gym Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Valley Heights High School will dismiss at noon on Wednesday for the service.

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY.
