The Marysville City Council Approved Continuing the Police Officers’ Wellness Program

Chief Todd Ackerman presented the Marysville City Council with an assessment of the Marysville Police Officers participating in the wellness program.  The program was considered controversial because it would allow officers to exercise while on the job.

The assessment was prepared by Pam Schroller, owner of Marysville Fitness.  According to the assessment all the officers continued to gain muscle mass pounds. The overall loss of weight is 25 pounds. According to the report the small amount of weight loss is due to the officers are putting on muscle weight of an average of 11.96lbs. per officer.

Chief Ackerman told the council that decreasing fat and adding muscle is the whole idea of the program and asked for this program to continue for another year.  The City Council agreed to extend the program for another year based on the data provided.
