Sen. Moran taking applications for U.S. Service Academy

Senator Jerry Moran is now accepting applications to a United State Service Academy.  He’ll appoint Kansans to the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.  All application material is due by Oct. 1st.  After the applications have been reviewed, applicants will be notified of interviews with Senator Moran’s Service Academy Selection Board, to be held Saturday, November 17th at the Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene.  To download an application, visit Moran’s website, moran.senate.gov or contact Lisa Dethloff at 913-393-0711.

Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995.
