A proposed 2013 budget that collects $6.2 million in property and personal property taxes has been approved by the Nemaha County Commissioners. The 2013 budget will see a $1.9 million decrease in expenditures from 2012. Road and Bridge spending will be capped at $3.68 million, general fund spending at $2.6 million, employee benefits at $1.38 million, and law enforcement at just over $1 million. A public hearing will be held Sept. 17th at 10 am at the Nemaha County Courthouse in Seneca.
The Gage County Board of Supervisors approved a 2% budget increase for the 2012-2013 fiscal year. They also approved the tax asking rate of $8.23 million for the 2012-2013 fiscal year to help pay for county services, personnel, and infrastructure improvements.
