Marysville City Council Notes

The Marysville City Council met Monday night.  Several items were on the agenda, including the acceptance of the low bid put in by Vankirk Brothers for the waterline/water plant improvements project.  The low bid was $304,439.70. Linda Swim spoke about LandMark purchasing the Depot and the City buying the land around the Depot.  The city doesn’t want the depot because they don’t want the city taxpayers to have to help pay for repairs to it or to have it tore down, if need be.  LandMark would do the renovations and take care of the upkeep of the depot.  Landmark asked for a 60 day extension to go over all the paperwork and have inspections done to the building.  That motion failed, however the council did table it until the next meeting on Sept. 24^th to allow the City Manager to finalize all the details.

Also on the agenda, the Marysville High School asked to have Broadway closed for a short time on Sept. 21^st at 2:30 p.m. for the Homecoming Parade.  That was approved.  The City Park will also be closed on Sept. 21^st in the evening for the tailgate party sponsored by United Bank & Trust.   A Public Building Commission has been set up, as it was approved by the council by a 7-1 vote.
