Koester House Statue Damaged by Vandals

Marysville Police are investigating two incidents of vandalism.

Unknown people kicked open the concession stand door at the Legion Ball Field sometime between 8 p.m. Friday, August 31st and 8 a.m. September 1st.  The value of the door was reported to be $600.  No items were taken.

Sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning unknown people entered the Koester House lawn and pushed over the white bronze deer statue.   The antlers were broken off of the statue and taken.

According to Koester House board member Sharon Kessinger it will cost hundreds of dollars to have new antlers forged and attached to the statue.  Kessinger said she hopes the antlers might be found intact.  The cost to re-attach the antlers would be much less than creating new ones.

Anyone with information on either case is encouraged to contact the Marysville Police Department at 562-2343.  If you find the white antlers they may also be turned in at the Police Department.
