The Kansas Historical Society announced the schedule for the Pony Express Festival, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, August 26, at Hollenberg Pony Express Station State Historic Site, 2889 23rd Road, Hanover.
10 a.m. – period demonstrators begin presentations
11 a.m. – non-denominational church service by circuit rider preacher with music by the community choir
Noon – catered lunch (charge for meal)
1-3 p.m. – Czechland Trio polka band. Ventriloquist Nick Levendofsky will perform with “Elmer” during intermission, 1:45 – 2:15 p.m.
3 p.m. – Pony Express re-enactment with mochila exchange
3:30 p.m. – festival quilt drawing
A wide variety of period skills and crafts will be demonstrated. Lemonade, soft drinks, water, pie, and ice cream will be sold by the Friends of Hollenberg Station as a fundraiser. Proceeds support site preservation and promotion. For more information, call 785-337-2635.
