Marysville City Council notes 8-13-12

This Monday August 13th at the Marysville city council meeting the major topic was the2013 budget.  At the meeting it was approved to raise the tax levy 1.94 mills.  There are many variable reasons for this increase but two more prominent were general expense increases as well as health insurance for city employees.  The levy will cause an increase of an additional $21.87 each year for a home valued at $100,000.

In additional business it was approved by the council to allow Don Landoll, owner of the Landoll Corporation, to extend concrete into the roadway near shop 20, by the airport, to generate a gutter system.  An extension was also made to a lease that allows Landoll to place finished equipment on airport land.

It was also approved to close the half block between center and Broadway on the 21st to allow First Commerce bank to celebrate the anniversary of their business.

The koester house which was completed in 1876 is in need of repairs.  The Victorian home is in need of plastering in various locations.  The winning contracting bid was placed at $3000 and the number was improved by the koester house advisory fund as well as the koester house foundation board.
