Thirty-eight members of the Homestead Harmonizers, which is based in Beatrice and has members from around Southeast Nebraska and the Marysville area, sang the National Anthem at Wrigley Field in Chicago on August 11th, prior to the Cubs-Reds game. One of the members, Mark Pinkerton is friends with Pete Ricketts, whose family owns the Cubs. They had joked for years that the Harmonizers should sing there and this time Ricketts offered and Pinkerton accepted. The group also sang at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Park Ridge the following morning.
