Election approaching for KS Dept of Ag

The Kansas Department of Agriculture reminds prospective candidates for the state’s five grain commodity commissions to begin collecting signatures for the 2013 election.  Corn, wheat, grain sorghum, soybean, and sunflower producers must gather signatures from fellow producers in their region by November 30, 2012.  Districts 7,8, & 9 will hold elections.  Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie, and Riley Counties are part of District 7.  Candidates must collect at least 20 signatures from eligible voters, no more than 5 signatures from any county can be used to qualify a candidate.  More information can be obtained on the Kansas Department of Agriculture website.
