Kyle Joekel, the man Gage County authorities have been looking for, for almost a year, has been arrested in Louisiana on separate charges. A source from the Gage County Sheriff’s office confirmed that Joekel was one of 5 suspects being held in Louisiana in connection with a shooting that left 2 deputy sheriffs dead and 2 others injured in a small town about 25 miles west of New Orleans. Joekel had been on the run since August 21, 2011 after an incident at a bar in Barneston where he made terroristic threats. A pursuit ensued into Kansas, down to Marysville and then back up 12th Road to Oketo where he lost control of his vehicle on a tight turn and crashed into 2 parked vehicles and a house. David Schwartz was arrested that night.
