Breaking: Explosion Reported at Beatrice Nitrogen Plant

BEATRICE – The Koch Nitrogen Plant in Beatrice was the scene of an explosion this morning sending two men to area hospitals with injuries.

Beatrice Fire & Rescue reports the explosion occurred just after 5 a.m.

One worker sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln. Another man was admitted to Beatrice Community Hospital with minor injuries.

No fire was reported from the explosion, and authorities are investigating the cause.
