KHP Trooper/Washington County Grad arrested

A Washington County High School graduate was recently charged with eight felonies related to sexual contact with children between 14 and 16.  Domingo Cardenas, age 39, and a Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper in Rush County in western Kansas was charged, which included rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and six felony counts of aggravated indecent liberties.  These incidents occurred last year and are also related to incidents that allegedly happened in 2008 and 2009.  The Kansas Highway Patrol has placed Cardenas on a leave of absence while internal investigations continue.
