Blue Valley Tele-Communications, Inc. (BVTC) hosted a meeting on Thursday, July 19th for concerned patrons and employees. This followed an announcement earlier in the week that the company was looking at reorganizing internal departments and staff. Patrons and employees were allowed to ask questions of the management team and Board of Directors during this meeting.
A restructuring proposal has been presented to ready the company for changes that the telephone industry is facing with the FCC’s initiatives to reform the Universal Service Fund (USF) through the National Broadband Plan.
“We assure our customers that BVTC remains a strong company. The Board, together with the management team, is reviewing a restructuring proposal. A determination is anticipated to be made soon. The Board and management are all concerned about the effect on employees and the community. I want the public to rest assured that the Board will do everything in its power to act in the best interests of the company and its customers,” said Terry Force, BVTC Board President.
KNDY spoke with Blue Valley Public Relations Director Jada Ackerman. Ackerman stated that no employees have been released as part of the re-structuring.
