  • Approved the amended budget for Code 51- Kpers fund for 2011-12.
  •  Accepted the following donations:
    • Blue Valley Tele-Communications donated $1,000 for planners.
    • Superwash donated $500 for planners.
    • Softball club received $335.50 in donations.
    • Received $500 from Landoll Corporation for Camp Invention.
    • Received $700 from Sons of The American Legion for Camp Invention.
    • Received $500 from Partners In Education for Camp Invention.
    • MES received a $25 donation from Nancy & Paul Keating.
    • MES received a $15 donation from Marian Lignitz.
    • Received donations to the track team for state track.
      • Citizens State Bank – $100
      • Lewis Seed and Fertilizer – $200
      • Oregon Trail Equipment – $100
      • Hometown Lumber – $50
      • Bruna Implement – $100
      • Valley Vet Supply – $50
      • Edward Jones – $100
      • Cleve Walstrom – $100
    • Received $1,307.23 from Marysville Elementary PTO for elementary field trips.
    • Received $699 from Marysville Elementary PTO for online resources from World Book, Inc.
    • KSCFL received a $200.00 donation from Chad and Sue Rhodes.
    • KSCFL received a $50.00 donation from the Advocate.
    • Nickelson Construction (Lee Nickelson) donated a load of dirt and delivery to the maintenance department.
    • Received $167,252.95 in donations to the Homer Hanson Stadium Renovation project during 2011-12.
  • Reviewed a budget report showing the current budget spent compared to budget spent for the last two years.
  • Approved the annual G.A.A.P. (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) waiver since Kansas School Districts must operate under the cash basis law. 
  • Accepted the bid of Ehnen’s Automotive, Inc. to provide oil filters to the district for the 2012-13 school year.
  • Accepted the bid of Mike’s OK Tire Store to provide tires to the district for the 2012-13 school year.
  • Accepted the bid of Kramer Oil Company to provide fuel to the district for the 2012-13 school year.  
  • Approved specs and authorize seeking bids for possibly 2 used buses.
  • Declared four old bus tires as surplus.
  • Adopted the revised 2012-13 school calendar to include early release days for the Junior/Senior High.

  • Renewed contracts with Nemaha Valley Community Hospital for occupational therapy services and physical therapy services for special education students; with Jennifer L. Smith, Ph.D. as Consultant for Applied Behavior Analysis Services, and with Teri Holmberg for music therapy.  (Services are provided as required for special education students when included on their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Approved an Athletic Training Services Agreement with Crist & Pieschl Physical Therapy in the amount of $1,500.
  • Authorized the district office to encumber and transfer funds necessary to expend the 2011-2012 budget.
  • Increased substitute teacher pay to $85 per day.
  • Accepted the following resignations:
    • Erika Buessing – Speech/Language Pathologist
    • Ryan Friedrichs – Assistant Football Coach
  • Approved a motion to transfer Brad Hammett from Secondary Physical Education to District Substitute.
  • Offered a contract to Randy Freeman as Special Education Director with a salary of $70,000.
  • Offered a contract to Sherry Helus as Principal at Marysville Elementary with a salary of $65,000.
  • Offered a contract to Kelli Rader as 3rd grade teacher at Marysville Elementary.
  • Offered a contract to Alison Strathman as 5th grade teacher at Marysville Elementary.
  • Appointed Sarah Hormann as food service worker.
  • Approved the following extra duty assignments:
    • Eddie Larson – Assistant Football
    • Kevin Harmer (1/2) Assistant Football
    • James Campbell (1/2) Assistant Football
    • Mike Russell – Assistant JH Football
    • Julie Meinhardt – SADD Sponsor
    • Davanie Nietfeld – After Prom Sponsor
    • Gayle Hawkins – After Prom Sponsor
    • Gina Bartels – Junior High Webmaster
  • Approved the following extended contract days:
    • Jeanne Bruna (CTE) 1 day
    • Gordon Etelamaki (Common Core) 3 days
    • Trent Giffin (Extended School Term) 25 days @ 3.5 hours
    • Dora Gross (Common Core) 3 days
    • Diana Habig (Common Core) 3 days
    • Annga Johnson (Common Core) 3 days
    • Julie Meinhardt (Common Core) 3 days
    • Samantha Parker (Extended School Term) 15 days @ 3.5 hours
    • Mary Richardson (VPL) 1 day
