Beatrice Man Injured In Car/Deer Accident

A Beatrice man suffered minor injuries after the vehicle he was driving struck a large deer.  At approximately 8 p.m. the Gage County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle car/deer accident that occurred at West Highway 136 near Southwest 103rd Road. After completing the investigation, it was determined that a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, driven by 46 year old Timothy W. Harrison of Beatrice, was traveling west on US Highway 136. The Alero collided with a large buck that entered the roadway which caused extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.
Upon deputies arrival, it was determined Harrison was injured from the broken glass. Harrison refused medical treatment at the scene and was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital for his injuries by family members. His injuries are considered minor and the other passengers in the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. All occupants in the vehicle were wearing their seatbelts and no air bags deployed.
