Rhythm and Blues Added to Weekend’s Festivities

Mainstreet to Perform for Street Dance

Plans are underway for Blues, Brews, and BBQ – an outdoor concert and street dance held in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce’s Poker Run and Friday Night Cruisin’ and Marysville Main Street’s Big Blue BBQ Championship.  The event begins at 8:00 p.m. and will be held in the parking lot at the corner of 7th Street and Elm Street, Marysville. The event is sponsored by the Marshall County Arts Cooperative and Landmark Enterprises, Inc.

Rhythm and blues will be performed and a beer garden will be available serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

The headlining band is a rhythm and blues band, Mainstreet, a six-piece show band who has been entertaining the Midwest for over twenty-five years.  Mainstreet was formed in Manhattan in 1979 by drummer Richard “Felix” Smalley.   Smalley grew up in Marysville, and is a 1973 Marysville High School graduate.

The concert is free.  People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the event.
