One killed in Three Vehicle Accident Monday Evening

A Texas Man was killed in a three vehicle accident on Monday evening at approximately 7:30.  The Kansas State Patrol report states that Curtis Dewayne Hall, age 46, of Live Oak, Texas was killed in a three vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 77 one mile west and one-half mile North of Marysville.

 

According to the official State Patrol Report, Hall was travelling southbound on Highway 77 when his vehicle entered the West ditch and then came back onto the roadway crossing the center line and entering the North-bound lane. 

 

Hall’s vehicle collided with a North-bound vehicle driven by Casey J. Carpenter, age 21, of Lincoln Nebraska.  After Hall’s vehicle hit the North-bound vehicle driven by Carpenter it continued on striking the North-bound vehicle driven by Shelby Nichole Friedrichs, age 20, of Topeka, Kansas.  Friedrichs vehicle rolled one time landing in the South-bound lane.

 

Curtis Dewayne Hall, driver of the North-bound vehicle that caused the accident was pronounced dead and taken to Kinsley Mortuary. 

 

The driver of the first vehicle hit by Hall, Casey J. Carpenter, was transported to Marysville Hospital and then flown to Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

 

The driver of the second vehicle hit by Hall, Shelby Nichole Friedrichs of Topeka was injured and treated at the scene.  A passenger in Friedrichs vehicle, Cory Alan Wienck, age 23 of Marysville, Kansas was also injured and treated at the scene.
