Washington County Voter’s Unhappy with Commissioners

According to a press release received by KNDY a group of unhappy voters in Washington County plan to attend the Washington County Commissioner’s meeting on April 16 at 8:15.   The group is protesting the commissioners’ decision to change voting procedures.  According to the release Commissioners were presented with a petition opposing the changes signed by nearly 700 registered voters in November.

The changes will close outlying polling places in the county.  Voters will either have to vote by mail or drive to the courthouse to cast a ballot.  According to the press release the group also plans to speak with commissioners about “their unfair methods of re-evaluating our property and raising our property taxes every year”.
