THE HOME CITY POST OFFICE WILL BE AMONG THE POST OFFICES AROUND THE U.S. THAT WILL BE CLOSING SOON. THE CLOSURE WILL NOT OCCUR BEFORE THE CURRENT MORATORIUM ENDS ON MAY 15TH. THE PUBLIC WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN A CLOSURE DATE HAS BEEN SET. UNTIL THEN, IT WILL BE BUSINESS AS USUAL AT THE HOME CITY POST OFFICE. THERE WERE SEVERAL REASONS THAT HOME CITY WAS CHOSEN AS ONE OF THE TOWNS TO LOSE THEIR POST OFFICE, INCLUDING THE POSTMASTER VACANCY, MINIMAL WORKLOAD, AND LOW OFFICE REVENUE. THE OTHER POST OFFICES IN THE AREA THAT ARE ON THE LIST OF POSSIBLE CLOSURES ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED FOR CLOSURE. THAT LIST INCLUDES, BARNES, BREMEN, HADDAM, HOLLENBERG, OKETO, AND PALMER THAT ARE STILL UP FOR POSSIBLE CLOSURE.
