Barnes Man Arrested in Beatrice Saturday

A Barnes man was arrested early Saturday morning in Beatrice on suspicion of several charges.  One of the charges include fourth offense of driving under the influence.  Beatrice police were called to Ninth and Jefferson Streets at around3:05Saturday morning to complaints about a vehicle revving it’s motor and squealing it’s tires.  The driver was later identified as Terrence J. Privett of Barnes.  Responding officers did find Privett revving his motor and squealing his tires.  There was a brief pursuit when officers attempted to pull Privett over.  When officers activated their lights, Privett nearly lost control of his vehicle trying to evade officers, almost hitting a garage.  Privett then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, however officers caught him after a short chase.  Privett failed three field sobriety tests and the preliminary breath test indicated his blood alcohol level was .125 percent.  Legal limit is .08 percent.  Privett’s license is currently revoked and has had past DUI convictions inGageCountyin December 2009,CloudCountyin March 2009 andMarshallCountyin February 2010.  Privett’s bond was set at $25,000 and his next court date is scheduled for May 22.  He was arrested on suspicion of his fourth DUI offense, flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under revocation, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer.
