The 2nd annual Czech Festival is this Saturday, April 28th, in Blue Rapids. Events begin as early as 10:00 a.m., which include Czech lessons, polka music from 11-2 during which a Czech meal will be served at the community building, current national Czech Slovak Queen, Christy Dowling, will be there to sing and address you in Czech. The historical railroad association will offer 45 minute rides across the 85 foot high trestle bridge east of Blue Rapids through Czech farmland from 11-2. Kevin Rippe was born in Marysville and moved to Smith Center at the age of 1, then graduated from Smith Center High School in 1995. He graduated from Cloud County Community College in 1997, and joined the staff of KKAN/KQMA radio in Phillipsburg a year later. Since June of 2011 Kevin has been with us here at Your Country KNDY.
