COMMISSION MINUTES,April 16, 2012
The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Monday, April 16, 2012in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman; Roger Otott, 2nd District Commissioner; Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner; Elizabeth Hiltgen,CountyAttorney and Lou Kern,CountyClerk.
Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order.
The next regular meeting isMonday, April 23, 2012at8:30 A.M.
The board approved bills and payroll totaling $291,568.76.
County citizens concerned over closing of polling places voiced their concerns to the commission and Lou Kern,CountyClerk. Anna Porter, Field Staff Supervisor, Division of Property Valuation, explained the appraisal process to the group. Francine Regan,CountyAppraiser; Bev Finlayson, Deputy County Appraiser and Elizabeth Hiltgen,CountyAttorney, were also present
Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and Solid Waste Director, reported on routine matters.
Sheriff Bill Dickson reported that the jail currently is holding 16SedgwickCountyprisoners and 4WashingtonCountyprisoners.
David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave weekly work report. Equipment repair issues were discussed. Drainage structures and federal aid projects were reviewed. David relayed information from his conversation with Neal Horton, Bayer Construction. David was given permission to accept the low quote for fuel tomorrow.
The board recessed at12:10 P.M.and reconvened at1:00 P.M.
At1:15 P.M.and at the request of Janice Kearn, R.N., County Health Director, Gene Helms moved to go into executive session with Janice and Elizabeth Hiltgen,CountyAttorney, for 5 minutes under the attorney/client privilege. Roger Otott seconded and motion carried. At1:20 P.M.the board returned to regular session. No action was taken.
