COMMISSION MINUTES, April 9, 2012
The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Monday, April 9, 2012 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner, Chairman; Roger Otott, 2nd District Commissioner; Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner; Elizabeth Hiltgen, County Attorney and Lou Kern, County Clerk.
Chairman Mueller called the meeting to order.
The next regular meeting is Monday, April 16, 2012 at 8:30 A.M.
The board examined the annual report of Barnes Township.
The board approved and signed change order nos. 2011-53 through 2011-59.
Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and Solid Waste Director, reported that the semis from the bean plant have been moved to his department. Duane will meet with a KDHE representative this afternoon at the transfer station.
Sheriff Bill Dickson and Undersheriff Wes Weber reported on routine matters. The jail currently is holding 16 Sedgwick County inmates and 6 Washington County inmates.
David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave weekly work report and monthly budget report. Roger Otott moved to accept the low quote of Kahn Culverts for the purchase of aluminized corrugated metal pipe in the amount of $96,809.22. Gene Helms seconded and motion carried. Gary Montre, Welborn Sales, visited with the board and David. Airport issues were discussed.
The board received a work report from Donnie Wolfe, Sanitarian for Rural Lakes Region.
The board spoke with Francine Regan, County Appraiser.
The board signed a letter to be sent to Brad Portenier, Bradford Built.
