The Koester House will host a special showing of the Sylvia Exhibit from 5-8 pm on Friday. Sylvia Broughten Koester was born on Valentine’s Day in 1848. She was a school teacher in Marysville and married Charles Koester on July 25, 1876. They moved into their new home at 919 Broadway.
Charles and Sylvia had three children. Sylvia contracted tuberculosis and died on April 3rd, 1883 at the age of 35.
Sarah Koester Morrison, great grand-daughter on Charles and Sylvia will be here for the exhibit on Friday. Morrison did the research for the exhibit and wrote the text.
