Norris Public Power District Continues to Battle Winter Storm

As of 9:30 p.m. Norris Public Power District had approximately 400 customers without power due to the winter storm that rolled through the area late Friday night and early Saturday morning.  Outage numbers continued to decrease this afternoon and evening; however the dark, snowy road conditions in the rural areas continue to hamper restoration efforts.

Overnight restoration efforts will be limited to emergency situations; however the District crews and mutual aid crews will continue their efforts before day break on Sunday morning.  Customers currently without power should make alternate plans for the night.

The District currently has outages in the areas of Denton, Malcolm, Raymond, Agnew, Davey, Waverly and Prairie Home with a few scattered outages in the Walton and Panama areas.

If you are currently without power and have not reported your outage, please do so by calling 1-800-858-4707.  Please remember to stay away from downed power lines or power lines that are sagging badly due to the conditions as they may be energized and could be extremely dangerous.

The Norris District will provide additional communication on restoration efforts beginning Sunday morning via our website at www.norrisppd.com, the Norris Facebook page and by press release.

We appreciate everyone’s continued patience and understanding with the restoration efforts.

Norris Public Power, “Dedicated to Serving You.”
