Frankfort Boys Highway Passes in Senate

The Frankfort Boys World War II Memorial Highway is one signature away from becoming reality.  A bill naming a stretch of highway in Marshall County in honor of 37 Frankfort servicemen killed in World War II is on its way to the Governor Sam Brownback.
The Kansas Senate Wednesday approved the bill naming a portion of K-99 Highway the “Frankfort Boys World War II Memorial Highway.”  The Kansas House earlier approved the bill.

For 6 ½ years, Frankfort native and World War II veteran Frank Benteman has spearheaded efforts to get the recognition.  In 2006, he brought to light that Frankfort suffered more men killed in action than any other town its size.
