The agenda has been released for the Bern and Summerfield meetings to discuss school closures.
The meetings will open with a review of what has been done to get patron input. That will be followed by a presentation on the board’s proposal for closing the two schools.
The board will provide paper for written comments from patrons. Following the written comments the floor will be open for those who wish to speak. To accommodate as many people as possible a time limit of five minutes will be in place. The board asks that comments focus on whether or not the closings would improve the school district. The board is asking for patrons to present concerns, ideas and suggestions.
Finally the board will explain what will happen next and at a later date. This will include the board’s consideration of the testimony and evidence presented at the meetings. The board will then determine whether the Summerfield and Bern schools should be closed.
The meeting for patrons of the Bern School will be at the Bern Attendance Center on Monday, February 20th at 7:00 p.m. The meeting for the Summerfield patrons will be at the Summerfield Attendance Center on Thursday, February 23rd at 7:00 p.m.
The agenda, and meeting notices are posted at KNDYradio.com and the KNDY facebook page.
