DeJong Found Guilty of Murder

Susan DeJong of Fairbury was found guilty of first degree murder and the use of a weapon to commit a felony.  The Jefferson county jury found DeJong guilty after just five hours of deliberation on Monday.

Susan DeJong was arrested on March 11, 2011 after she called 911 to ask that an ambulance be sent immediately to their residence eight miles west of Fairbury.  The ambulance found her husband badly beaten and rushed him to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead due to blunt force trauma.
