NOTICE OF HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF THE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

#113 BOARD OF EDUCATION TO CONSIDER A PROPOSAL TO CLOSE THE SCHOOL BUILDING OF GRADES PREK-12 AT THE BERN ATTENDANCE CENTER PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 72-8213b, ET SEQ.

NOTICE is hereby given that a proposal has been made by a resolution of the Unified School District (U.S.D.) #113 Board of Education to improve the school system for U.S.D. #113 by closing the school building for grades PreK-12 at the Bern Attendance Center and for those students to attend Sabetha Elementary School, Sabetha Middle School and Sabetha High School. This proposal is being considered due to increased costs, reduced budgets and changing demographics as well as to preserve a strong curriculum for all students of the district.

A public hearing will be held to consider the proposal by the U.S.D. #113 Board of Education at the Bern Attendance Center beginning at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th day of February, 2012. All persons interested in such proceedings may attend such hearing and be heard under the guidelines established by the U.S. D. #113 Board of Education for such hearing or may submit written comments to be considered on the proposal.
