The Marysville City Council met Tuesday. A recent decision to provide electronic tablets for council members, and department heads in an effort to reduce paper waste was brought forward by the mayor for discussion. Following a lengthy debate, a decision to move forward with essentially the same plan as was originally proposed passed the chamber on a 7-1 vote.
The City Council revisited issues with the 7th street corridor project. Apparently improvements to the cross street intersections were not included in the scope of the project. Several council members were under the impression that this was, or should have been included. The City Administrator is to report back on the issue.
A motion to paint city hall offices passed on a 7-1 vote, with Sean Cohorst indicating he would favor a more extensive remodel of the offices.
A proposal to repair the stairs on 9th street at Carolina is to be considered this spring.
A motion to extend a one year contract with City Administrator Rick Shain was approved.
The council recessed the meeting to Thursday, December 29 for consideration of final 2011 bills.
