Man Killed in Accident Near Summerfield Identified

A man killed in a rollover accident three miles north of Summerfield has been identified as Steven Epps of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office reported Epps was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 8 approaching the south junction with Highway 99.  Evidence suggests Epps attempted to make a turn and rolled his vehicle into a field.  He was thrown from the vehicle.  Officials pronounced Epps dead at the scene.

Jefferson County reported Epps’ car had been involved in a separate hit and run accident earlier in the night near Steele City.  Epps’ car struck a vehicle occupied by four people near Steele City. All four were transported to Jefferson Community Health Center by ambulance where they were all treated and released.
