Mike Vogt, Marshall County Extension Agent, reports that the harvest has progressed nicely over the past week.
In his crop report Vogt estimates that in Marshall County Soy Bean Harvest is approximately 60% complete with most yields running between 45 and 60 bushels per acre. Corn harvest is estimated to be approximately 50% complete with most yields between 110 and 140 bushels per acre. Sorghum harvest is approximately 40% with most yields between 120 and 130 bushels per acre.
Vogt said the rains will cause a short delay in the harvest but with the rain expected to end soon he expects farmers to resume harvesting by the end of the week.
