Beatrice Man Convicted of Attempted Strangulation

Sean Cahill, age 53, of Beatrice no contest in Gage County District Court Wednesday to theft and assault charges.  He was convicted of attempted theft by receiving stolen property, attempted strangulation and attempted domestic assault.

The charges resulted from two incidents.  In May Cahill’s former business partner was attempting to remove parts from the Shamrock Racing Shop.  Cahill shoved her onto the hood of a car and then threw her against a jeep. Cahill then slammed her head into the concrete and attempted to strangle her.

The theft charge was a result of a second incident.  Police discovered Cahill obtained possession of stolen parts of a custom Harley Davidson motorcycle owned by Carriage Motors in Beatrice.  The parts were stolen sometime in September or October of 2005 and the estimated value of the motorcycle was $14,500.
